Please Allow The Work I've Done to Speak for Itself.
Y'all I can only hope to be able to say the above when the time comes to finally stop working for good. Until then I have some kind words I have received over the years. Thank you so much for all who took the time to write these thoughts down. It is much appreciated, from coworkers, friends and patients -- I feel the gratitude of my work and it really means a lot! Taking care of people is a hard job but somebody has to do it! I am soulfully committed to my patients and this wonderful profession.

much love,
ZenRN
From Mary - 2022
Nicole, I want you to know how lucky I was that you were my nurse during some very difficult and scary nights. Your professionalism, intelligence, and compassion gave me such a great sense of comfort and security that I knew I was going to be alright whenever you were around. You truly are an angel sent to watch over me when I really needed one. I will always remember you!!! P.S Excuse my bad handwriting I had to use my left hand :(

2023 Update: Mary has made a full recovery and came back to visit us in the beautiful sunshine state! Way to Go Mary! :)

Daisy Award Nomination - 2018
I want to nominate Nicole who had served both as a charge nurse and as my nurse for the Daisy Award. The first time I met her was when my ostomy bag had leaked very badly. I was in a good deal of pain. The nurse who had changed my ostomy bad before Nicole had put ostomy paste on my skin. My skin was very badly irritated and Nicole indicated, given my sensitive and fragile skin, ostomy paste was not good for me. Nicole spent over an hour with me, carefully removing the ostomy paste. She was so gentle and compassionate. Between the help I reviewed from her and nurse B (whom I have also nominated for a daisy) they made my life much less painful and I had deeply grateful to both of them.

"I met Nicole when I was a new nurse myself, maybe a year in. I came in for my shift and was told I would have an orientee and my first thought was Not Today!!! And then I met her, she was quiet with a nervous smile and I thought...this is going to be a long night. What can she possibly learn from me? Well I gave her all I had, all my tips, my tricks, my everything. I think I gave her my attitude lol but one thing I always told her, was always maintain your integrity and never allow anyone to make you feel less than. This 21 year old BSN fresh out of college was Nicole. I wanted her to be proud and stand up for herself. We stayed many nights during training until all of our work was complete. Many tears, lots of hugs, laugh until you cry nights and 12 years later, Nicole is still my friend. I am so proud of her and the nurse she is...She is absolutely the sweetest and most caring person with a smile that brightens my day everytime I see it or even think of it."

She always had a smile on my face every time I saw her. She was very caring about me, my feelings, and how I felt. Whatever I needed or wanted she would get it or do it for me with a smile.

"No one thing comes to mind. When I think of Nicole I remember warmth, fairness, educated, leadership, respected and funny. All together you have Nicole. As a supervisor she knocked on many a closed door for patients and staff. Always willing to help out wherever needed. Like I said, no 1 thing. Nurse, teacher, friend."

Nicole is known and loved by all her fellow workers. She's always willing to lend an extra hand to help. And she is the best resource for us in so many areas: computer, standard work of care.
